Summer catch-up Part I

Our summer has been quite the adventure! We utilized every second that we had off school. I actually completed all my assignments an entire week early just so that I didn't have to take any of that with me. I'm quite proud of my husband for putting up with me during that time; he even brought me home chocolates!

Our adventures began with a 10 hour long car ride from Ellensburg to Echo Lake Montana. Echo Lake is basically right there by Big fork, which is maybe 20ish minutes from Kalispell. We enjoyed our time there, and we look forward to one day moving our family to that area. It may seem like it's out in nowhere-land but we LOVE it!
Turns out Penelope is a water-lover. I was worried she would be concerned about swimming in the lake, but after a day or two she was "jumping" (more like leaping) into the water. She loved to be in the tube we brought with us as well as in my arms just floating around. She wanted to go out in the boat at every opportunity, took a turn on the 3 person tube, and took a turn on the knee board thingy with uncle Beau. It was funny because she didn't laugh like crazy or even smile, but she would get upset if we took her away from it earlier than she wanted. If she didn't get upset, she would just quietly move onto the next water adventure. I'm finding that this child is very hard to read.

It was so wonderful to see my husband enjoying time with his family. Life gets to be too much sometimes, so it was such a blessing to see him relax. He sat on the floor and played cards with Samantha and Penelope, they loved it!

Can you believe how big she is getting?! Sometimes I find myself doing a double-take. It didn't seem that long ago that I swaddled her to bed.

And of course, the last flight of stairs (out of 6) from the top down to the lake.

Aunt Kayla LOVED playing with the kids in the water. And of course, Penelope loved it. Samantha...well...we're working on her still. She mostly played on the steps and the dock, but one day I'm sure we'll get her brave enough to get on the boat or even jump in the water.

Those water guns were a big hit with the kids. I can't remember who brought them to the lake, but Samantha loved it.

We went to play at a playground that was at the school by the lake. It was a really nice playground, made with lots of tires! There were tunnels, tire swings, a little house, and some good shade. The kids exhausted themselves while grandma and grandpa went out to bring back Popsicles.

We have so many more pictures to share, but I haven't received them all, nor have I had the time to organize them. These are just a little sneak peak! We have lots more from the cabin, and a few more from the Peacock Reunion in Idaho. BJ told me he was ready to be home, but part of me wasn't done vacationing. It was all just so much fun!
